tropical body butter
8 oz Deodorized Cocoa Butte
5 oz Refined Shea Butter
2.5 oz Coconut Oil, 76 degree
.5 oz Tapioca Pure (helps give a silky smooth, not greasy after feel)
a few drops of Tocopherol T-50, or vitamin E (this is an antioxidant, retarding rancidity in your oils/butters, NOT a preservative!)
Preservative (Liquapar, Optiphen, etc)
Fragrance oil or Essential oil to scent
Directions:
Melt your butters slowly with gentle heat in a bowl, then add in the coconut oil and tocopherol (or vitamin E). Allow to cool for about 30 mins until it is starting to thicken up again.
As your butter/oil mixture continues to cool and thicken, use a stick blender to whip air and lighten the texture. Gently sprinkle in a tiny portion of the Tapioca Pure, similar to how you would add small portions of flour to a cake battter mixture. This will prevent any lumping.
Next, add your preservative and any fragrance or essential oils. Spoon your mousse like concoction into jars and seal with lids. This whipped body butter will become firmer as it sets up at room temperature.
